 NOTICE:  C&S SHELLFISH: C&S SHELLFISH: LUMMI BAY, BELLINGHAM BAY, DRAYTON HARBOR AND BIRCH BAY ARE CURRENTLY SAFE FOR SHELLFISH HARVEST. SAMPLES ARE TESTED ON A REGULAR BASIS, CHECK THE HOTLINE ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR UPDATES. NOTICE: PORTAGE BAY CLOSED TO ALL SPECIES DUE TO SEWAGE SPILL. NOTICE PURSUANT TO TITLE 10 ALL VESSELS IN THE LUMMI FISHERIES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH NATURAL RESOURCES, HAVE THE REGISTRATION NUMBER ON THE HULL AND HAVE ON BOARD THE REGISTRATION CARD AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT. NOTICE IT IS A VIOLATION OF SECTION 10.15.200 OF TITLE 10 TO HARVEST SHELLFISH IN UNAPPROVED AREAS PURSUANT TO SHELLFISH SANITATION REGULATION 2001. NOTICE NO LUMMI REGISTERED GEAR OR FISHERMEN SHALL FISH WITHIN LUMMI'S USUAL & ACCUSTOMED FISHING AREAS EXCEPT ON DAYS AND TIMES WHEN THE LUMMI TRIBE SHALL HAVE OPENED THE FISHERY. MINIMUM PENALTY FOR VIOLATION IS CONFISCATION OF CATCH OR CATCH VALUE IF SOLD. ALL FISHERIES AND AREAS ARE CLOSED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY OPENED. IT IS A VIOLATION OF THE LUMMI ORDINANCE TO SELL TO ANY BUYER NOT LICENSED BY THE LUMMI TRIBE. IT IS THE FISHER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE BUYER IS LICENSED BEFORE YOU SELL OUT.

MANILA CLAM COMMERCIAL HARVEST. ALL ON-RESERVATION AREAS ARE CLOSED ALL HARVESTERS MUST HAVE FISH ID VALIDATED FOR CLAM HARVEST WITH THEM AT TIME OF HARVESTING. LUMMI BAY AREAS 20A-S1D AND 20A-S1E WILL OPEN ON THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE:

 

TUESDAY APRIL 1 CHECK IN 12 10 P.M. CHECK OUT 5 10 P.M.

 

RESTRICTIONS JANESSA MORRIS WILL MONITOR AT THE SECOND TIDE GATE. EACH DIGGER MUST SIGN IN AND OUT WITH MONITOR. HARVESTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE BEACH BEFORE SIGNING IN WITH THE MONITOR. THE CLAM DIGGERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE AREA PRIOR TO CHECKING OUT. ANY DIGGER OR VEHICLE LEAVING THE OPEN AREA PRIOR TO CHECKING OUT WILL NOT RECEIVE MONITOR TAGS. ALL BAGS MUST BE SEALED BY THE MONOTOR. COMMERCIAL HARVESTIS CLOSED IN 20A S1D SOUTH AND EAST OF A LINE FROM FINKBONNER ISLAND TO THE SOUTHERN MOST POINT OF SANDY POINT HEIGHTS IN ONION BAY. ONLY SENIORS 55 YEARS AND OLDER WITH SENIOR VALIDATION MAY HARVEST IN AREA 20A S1C WITH A 150 POUND LIMIT. BUYERS MUST NOT PURCHASE CLAMS UNLESS THE BAG IS SEALED. BUYERS MUST NOTE ON FISH TICKET THE WEIGHT OF CLAMS AND DEBRIS NOT PURCHASED. CLAMS IN UNSEALED BAGS OR WITH TOTAL WEIGHT EXCEEDING 10% OF THE MONITORED WEIGHT MUST BE HELD FOR ENFORCEMENT. FOLLOW ALL PROVISIONS OF TITLE 10 AND APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. MINIMUM SIZE IS ONE AND A HALF INCH MEASURED ACROSS THE WIDEST POINT.

RESTRICTIONS: MAXIMUM 50 POTS PER FISHER AND BOAT. TOWING A SKIFF OR SECOND VESSEL, WITH INTENT OF WORKING ADDITIONAL SETS OF GEAR WITHOUT THE REGISTERED GEAR OWNER ON BOARD IS NOT ALLOWED. ONE PERMIT PER BOAT. POTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH FISHERIES. REGISTERED FISHER MUST HARVEST OWN CRAB POTS. POSSESSION OF MALES WITH SOFT SHELLS, OR LESS THEN A 6 1/4 INCHES OR FEMALES IS PROHIBITED. MUST COMPLY WITH TITLE 10 AND THE CURRENT REGION 1 CRAB REGULATION 2024 084C POSTED IN THE FISHERIES OFFICE.

COMMERCIAL HARVEST DIVING: REGULATION 2019-09, LUMMI NATION COMMERCIAL HARVEST DIVING STANDARDS, ARE NOW IN EFFECT. THE REGULATION STIPULATES THAT FISHERS PARTICIPATING IN COMMERCIAL HARVEST DIVING ACTIVITIES PERMITTED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE LUMMI NATION MUST FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH IN THE FEBRUARY 2019 VERSION OF THE LNR COMMERCIAL HARVEST DIVING STANDARDS MANUAL. FURTHERMORE, A COPY OF THE MANUAL IS REQUIRED ABOARD ALL VESSELS PARTICIPATING IN DIVE FISHERIES. COPIES OF REGULATION 2019-09 AND THE COMMERCIAL HARVEST DIVING STANDARDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE LNR OFFICE AND ONLINE IN THE DOCUMENT CENTER UNDER THE LNR HARVEST MANAGEMENT WEBSITE. OPERATORS AND FISHERS MUST OBTAIN VALIDATIONS AND COMPLY WITH ALL PROVISIONS OF TITLE 10.
