Mission

The mission of the Natural Resources Restoration Division is to assess, preserve and restore fisheries habitat throughout the Lummi Nation's Usual and Accustomed Areas. Special emphasis will be placed on the recovery of Chinook salmon and other treaty protected stocks of special significance to the Lummi people.

All other 2023 were built around 5-29 working in concert to prevent avulsions and flanking. We expect significant channel aggradation and floodplain occupation on each side of this channel spanning log riffle.

Effectiveness Monitoring

Our restoration projects are monitored for project effectiveness. We have completed effectiveness monitoring reports (see document links), and monitor geomorphic response following high flow events.

We regularly film adult chinook and other salmonid species presence under our engineered log jams (ELJs). Click on the links below for recent films under specific project areas; Larson's Reach Phase 2 (2015) and Saxon Reach (2012).
