Coastal Zone Management

Coastal Zone Management activities conducted by the Water Resources Division include the development of Coastal Protection Guidelines for the Reservation shorelines, ongoing monitoring of coastal erosion, project-specific studies, and the update of the Lummi Nation Coastal Zone Managment Plan.

The Water Resources Division provided technical support for the 1998 Lummi Shore Road Project, the relocation of Lummi View Drive in 2006, and the physical monitoring of the Lummi Shore Road Beach Nourishment activities. The Water Resources Division Manager also provides technical support to the Lummi Nation Tidelands Team, that is working to address trespass on tribal tidelands by non-members of the Lummi Nation.
